Leasing Copyrighted Music
I've a chance to let another group record one of my copyrighted songs to their new album as a cover.
The problem is, i don't know what to charge to lease my song to them and still retain the rights. also, they are offering me a share in the profits of the cd's they sell.. so how do i go about coming up with a percentage for that? |

Yes there are, contract lawyers, just to make sure if the song goes big, you get a fair cut and if not it does not cost the band an unfair amount. If you trust the musician then just ask for a fair cut based on revenue generated, but without a lawyer, it's a risk you'll have to be taking.
