Electioneering shouldn't be treated as a taboo. I don't care if it doesn't sound like every other song on Ok Computer, I find it a nice break in the line up, the energy of the song is refreshing.

"When I go forwards. you go backwards. and somewhere we will meet.." Some of my favorite Radiohead lyrics.

Don't get me wrong at all. I really like the track but compared with what the band can and has done I think it's not the best indicator of their music.

I have narrowed it down to:

Fake Plastic Trees (first Radiohead track outside of Creep that I heard)
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi (for those fantastic swirling guitar tracks).

A few more days to find my favourite.

This is true and it's the fact that it could be a lot of bands, but it's radiohead and it's amongst the OK computer chaos.

I guess in most people on this board's opinions, I'm lucky for having heard Paranoid Android first before Creep :p:

Please don't choose Fake Plasitc Trees.

And my vote goes to Life in a Glass House. This song has so many plays on my itunes it's ridiculous, but I don't think it will ever get old.

This man is cool in my book.

I am loving the Radiodread cover album that the Easy Star Allstars did. Song for song of OK Computer. It's actually better than Radiohead's version, IMHO. Especially Climbing up the walls and Electioneering. Less whiney.

I actually like the concepts and covers of Radiohead more than I do their music.

But mixomatosis is my absolute favorite track of theirs. Grim and not sissy.

Pray tell me why not? It may be popular and an obvious choice but there is a certain part in the song that I identify fully with and is'nt that what music should do- make connections?

sleepy jack 12-02-2008 05:32 PM

Jackhammer don't argue with Radiohead fans. Nailing your feet to the floor is more productive.

ProggyMan 12-02-2008 08:14 PM

Yeh, the RH thread makes me cry. Never seen anything so self-congratulatory in my life. Not that I don't love you or anything fanboys of teh head.

I wasn't being completely serious. I'm sorry if you thought I was being condesceding or anything. I don't mind if you vote for it, it is definetly a great song, and I think it's one of their better from their earlier stuff.
It's just, in my opinion, that song doesn't feel like Radiohead. It's a little overrated and too pop-ish for me.

dac 12-03-2008 02:29 PM

Fake Plastic Trees is the closest Radiohead will come to a ballad, and I'm not usually a fan of ballads.

sweet_nothing 12-03-2008 02:59 PM

umm High and Dry & Exit Music ?

dac 12-03-2008 04:57 PM

Exit Music maybe, but High and Dry is just a pop song IMO.

CalRog 12-03-2008 07:53 PM

Fake plastic trees is probably my most favorite... although lately i listen to house of cards and there there alot more than any others.

kyleargyle 12-04-2008 11:45 AM

for a while it was "exit music", but i'm REALLY digging "jigsaw" off their new album.

Alkajazz 12-04-2008 10:17 PM

Karma Police hands down.

Demonoid 12-05-2008 08:19 AM

I think it's Exit Music here. I'm soo damn obvious :p:.

Wifey Boozer 12-05-2008 09:21 AM

I still don't like Radiohead, I like Creep and I found out I like Karma Police but I just haven't been able to get into them and I feel like an ******* for saying that.

You should :bringit:

Head over to their thread though if you want some recommendations, because I assure you there is better stuff than Creep.

There are so many. I'm finding it hard to pick.

Sneer 12-10-2008 09:16 AM

Impossible question.

Yes, it's my fav Radiohead song, it never fails to put me in a good mood, I also love the fact that Thom recorded the vocals drunk.
