In their earlier work, He Is Legend sounded a lot more like your average scene post-hardcore band, but on Suck Out The Poison they picked up a much more southern sound.
Anyways skip me, rate FaSho.

JamisonParker - Your Song My fringe isn't floppy enough for this. Katy Perry - Fingerprints Katy Perry sings a song about idiots and stereotypes. Bloody hell. Aesop Rock - Battery Labour Days is a brilliant dark hip-hop album, i fully approve. Iron and Wine - Carousel Never really been a fan of him but this is nice enough. The Cure - Push My favourite Cure song, fuckin' win! |

Bob Marley & The Wailers-Jamming -i'm sure everyone's heard this. damn good, but not my favorite Marley song. Mastodon-Megalodon -I. LOVE. YOU. Gang of Four-I Found That Essence Rare -good, British, jangly rock. i like. The Clash-Straight to Hell -I still haven't listened to Combat Rock. this song feels a bit empty, but not in a bad way, like that was their intent. Muse-Map of the Problematique -wow. this is pretty damn epic. i don't know what else to say, but i really like it. in all, a 9/10

Alright I'm all set and ready to play Antonio's library...but I'm not seeing your last.fm link in your sig?
I even went through the trouble of temporarily showing signatures so I could get your link. edit: nevermind...the last.fm widgets were temporarily not displaying, so I couldn't see it. Got it now...listening. So consider this a placeholder for Antonio's library.

Soundgarden - "The Day I tried to Live" Meh...decent enough song but I've heard it a hundred times. Though I shouldn’t hold that against it. My only real problem with it is that Chris Cornell's vocals grate on me after a while. Actually it doesn’t take long at all. This is what has always kept me from checking out their first two albums. My introduction to them was Badmotorfinger which I like a lot except for the occasional cringe from the vocals. But the musical style on that album is harder and more to my liking, and therefore making up for the vocals, than the style on Superunknown which is more polished and not strong enough to make up for the vocals. Every Time I Die – "Apocalypse Now and Then" Hmm, a decent metalcore song. I used to have an album by these guys, Hot Damn!, which never grabbed my attention all that much, just average I guess. I may have even seen them live, now that I think about it, at an event featuring a handful of bands. So the song’s ok but I’m just not really into this type of stuff anymore. At times the vocals remind me a bit too much of mainstream emo. I can tell they are young. The Foo Fighters – "This is a Call" I have mixed feelings about this band. Luckily, this song is from their debut, one of two albums I have and enjoy (the other being The Colour and the Shape) so I dig it. After that, their stuff just didn’t appeal to me. Too mainstream and generic sounding I guess, or they were so influential that too many other bands started sounding like them...saturating their sound. I never loved them to begin with, just enjoyed it on occasion when I wanted something non-challenging to listen to. Everything I’ve heard from them as of late is just strumming and yelling, doesn’t appeal to me at all. But this is a good song. Superjoint Ritual - "Everyone Hates Everyone" I’ve known of this band for a long time but I’ve never listened to any of their stuff. I was a big Pantera fan during their prime (Cemetery Gates, Vulgar Display of Power, and Far Beyond Driven) but sort of got out of metal after that except for the occasional album. The only thing after those albums that I’ve heard from Phil Anselmo is Down’s debut NOLA which is pretty good, though I only got it within the last two years. Oh yeah so back to this song which is almost over…I like it. Maybe I should check out this album then. Also I’m not sure the level of his involvement, but Michel Haaga (frontman and guitarist from one of my favorite little known metal bands, Dead Horse) was an early member of this band. Warren Zevon - "Lawyers, Guns and Money" I don’t know that I’ve ever heard anything from this guy, other than “Werewolves of London” which I inever cared for. This song was not very appealing or memorable, I don’t see myself checking him out any time soon.

Descendents-I Wanna Be A Bear
This song was only 43 seconds long, it was alright but I'm not much of a punk fan. Probably won't be checking these guys out anytime soon, but it wasn't terrible, just not really my thing. 2/5 Wishbone Ash-Phoenix Oh, hell yes. A badass, ten minute sprawling epic of a song that takes off a few minutes in and doesn't let up from there. I need more stuff like this in my collection, so I'll definitely be checking these guys out. 4.5/5 31knots -Man Become Me These guys are I guess classified as math-rock, a genre that I normally am into, but for some reason this song really didn't click much with me, not sure why. 3/5 A Tribe Called Quest-We Can Get Down Some solid classic hip-hop, what more needs to be said? I don't listen to a lot of it but this was pretty good. 3/5 Love-Maybe The People Would Be The Times/Between Clark & Hilldale Nice little 4-minute jam, I've heard of this band but have never really ever listened to anything of theirs. Might have to change that now, 3.5/5. Overall I really liked the Wishbone Ash track, only the first track was something I would probably make an effort to avoid. My lastFm account's only about a month and a half old, and I've mostly been listening to whatever music I'm transferring over to this laptop from my old computer, but there should be some decent stuff on there. Glad you enjoyed some of the other stuff though. I guess the library just picks stuff at random so you never know what you're gonna get.

The Mars Volta - L'Via L'Viaquez
I love everything about this song, from the passionate vocals to the sparse guitar to the intense rhythm section to the lush production (obviously I've heard it before). 5/5 Fields - Parasite It was ok, the instrumentation was more interesting than most bands of it's kind. Girl's voice was kind of annoying though. 3/5 Explosions in the Sky - Day Two Didn't do much for me. Post-rock seems to rely on the mood of the music rather than hooks and such, so it either catches you or it doesn't. 2.5/5 Goo Goo Dolls - Here Is Gone Heard it before, it's boring as ever. 2/5 Depeche Mode - Halo Great subtle use of dissonance and drum machines. 4/5

Comus-Diana -ah, i also have First Utterance, and it's quite possibly one of my favorite albums. really. this is also one of my favorite songs off of it, good stuff Weezer-In The Garage -i also have the Blue Album, haha. kind of a nice, straight rock song. really a nice listen Camille-La jeune fille aux cheveux blancs -first time hearing this artist. the instrumentation is pretty interesting, and she has a nice voice. the way this song is actually makes me thin of the first song "Diana". bit of an influence perhaps? The Smiths-I Want the One I Can't Have -Morrissey's voice is just hypnotizing. i could listen to him sing all day really. I'll definately be checking out Meat is Murder after this. Prince & The Revolution-When Doves Cry -while i definately respect Prince as an artist, sometimes he straight freaks me right the f*ck out. still this is a great song from him, one of his best really.
