1.) a. Are you a Musician? Yes.
b. What instrument(s) do you play? Keyboard, bass, guitar, sing. 2.) What Genre of music do you listen to/play? I listen to all kinds. And the music I play is kind of a mixed bag but could probably be best described as electronica. 3.) If you play an instrument, at what age did you start playing? I took keyboard lessons at age 11 but didn't really pick it up again until my 20s. 4.) How would you rate your performance in math classes during high school? Bad. Except for geometry, which I was okay at. 5.) What was the last math class you took in high school? Algebra II. Also please leave your age and gender in your response. 31. Male. |

there's also no definition on what constitutes being a 'musician' which leaves a whole other aspect of interpretation to affect the collected data. is it just a matter of owning an instrument? being able to play at an arbitrary level of technical proficiency? an arbitrary amount of live performances within a specified time frame? or something else? is there a connection between math class abilities and learning an instrument? for sure. especially if you're a guitar player using tablature as your main learning resource. although i think anti-social / reclusive behavior is just as likely to influence someone to pick up an instrument than their ability in math class. |
