I don't know what's so charming about it, but I'm so obsessed with this video right now.

Me too, I think they used to scare a lot of people. Hence why most of them were censored or not shown at all. I love them though, I think they're amazing and very creative and weird.

Indeed. Me and a few friends used to obsess over Lateralus and its dark hooks and crazy drumming. We'd turn that record way loud on most days and even more nights. I guess I'm not an angry teenager anymore.

Aw. Is this why you don't like them anymore? I used to think their music was dark and angry when I was an angsty teenager but listening to it now at age 20 I see there's a lot of light in their music as well.

Okay, I confess that I didn't stop listening to them seriously until early last year. What happened was that 10,000 days was just too long, and all was left was Lateralus for me (I didn't own the previous efforts, not even A(e)nima) and I didn't feel like waiting another 5 years, and A Perfect Circle just wasn't doing it. So I deciphered all the little hints and nuances of the album (mainly how the title song progresses in a mathematical pattern), and got over the drumming, and I was left with "well, what now?"

I also developed an ear for more complex and patience rewarding records, and thought Tool were just too predictable after awhile. I just felt like I grew up, and Tool sounded too angry.

Though, to this day, I enjoy Lateralus. I coped to Parabol/Parabola for some time.

The main guy is a dude I know personally. I woke up at 2 am and watched this video play, and for the longest time I couldn't believe it was a friend of mine : P

You don't own any previous efforts? You gotta get your hands on Aenima and Undertow. I can PM them to you if you like. Although they are angrier than Lateralus so they just may not do it for you.

P.S. that's so cool that you know that dude!

You would? I'd like that.

And, yeah, I talked to him about it and he was surprised that I knew. I was like, "what!?" because Stars are huge in the Canadian indie scene. "You'll have girls flocking to you in no time!" I said, but he wouldn't believe me. Surely, they did.

Yeah that's awesome. Stars are even pretty huge in the indie scene over here!

& I'll upload the albums and PM them to you sometime this week

The song is "Close to Me" .. Song beats the video though.

I would post a youtube thing of the awesome video for Primus' song "Wynona's great big beaver", but I can't until I up my postcount. You probably know it and if you don't, check it out yourself!
