I feel like you can't really appreciate a year unless you were alive and really into music then. I started really getting into music last year so I'm going with 2007.

That's a good point, which is why I have trouble saying something out of the 60's or 70's would be the best. I never truly experienced it.

Doesn't make that much sense to me .. I mean, what if you discover pre-2007 music in 2007 and 50% of the bands you fall in love with that year started up or gave out their best stuff in 1969. Should you pick 2007 over 1969 then?

I'm just saying that it's hard to truly compare them since my musical awareness goes back to about 2000.
