As long as it makes musical sense (its not just some idiot strumming random notes on a guitar while a drum player beats off timed "rythems") then I'll listen to it. I hardly have a complaint/dislike about music.

I'm very open to new genres and artists, I try not to judge an artist based on their genre. I don't like most of the metal or rap that I've heard, but I don't hate metal or rap by default.

Heck, I've become a fan of a bunch of bands that I previously thought I would hate (Radiohead, Sex Pistols, Tool) so opening my mind to more than just what I was raised on did wonders for my musical diversity.

When I think of good taste in music I think of someone who's open to most genres and doesn't listen to the radio.

One thing I have noticed here is that there are plenty of people here with diverse musical taste. But I have noticed that in a lot of cases it tends to be with artists or albums that are universally acclaimed or trendy.

I could perhaps be accused of this but I am almost playing catch up with so much music as there was a period in the 90's where I did'nt bother with hardly any new music (due to becoming a parent twice) for about 6-7 years. I just sort of fell out of love with music (except what I had at the time obviously). It wasnt until the advent of acquiring the internet and meeting new people that I renewed my love affair with music. Looking back I am annoyed with myself really.

You were the last person I was thinking of.

Can't think why.

+1 for the Blues Brothers reference.
