Because I am studying the effect of music and sounds on mice. For example in the morning their will be birds chirping, in the after noon there will be classical music. When I give them water there will be a raining sounds. Between afternoon and evening there will be silence. At night there will be a book on take and after that crickets. Finally for about 8 hours during the night there will be silence. I am a bit crazy but what the hell. Any recomendations would be really appreciated. I want it to be completely automated because I have a really bussy schedule. Thanks

Haha that is so cool. Do you actually think the mice will have a reaction to the sounds? My dogs love listening to me play the piano, they curl up under my feet and twitch their ears.
Sorry to go off topic and that I can't help you in your search |

Why not just record what you want, put it on a ipod or mp3 player, make a playlist and randomise it, and leave it playing? Would that not work?
BTW I assume these mice will be treated humanely, ie no Westlife!

I want it so that in the morning birds chirp in the evening classical music plays then there is three hours of silence. At about 8pm there will be a book on tape and after that crickets for about an hour. If I randomize these events they will not be played in that specific order. Thanks for your help

Thanks for the response everyone that is a good idea. Skips I think I'm gonna use your idea. I was thinking about doing it this way but was woried about leaving the MP3 on 24/7 and I don't know if it would be bad for the batteries for they would be charging all the time.
