Looking for songs with no vocals....
Hello. My name is Heather. I've been searching all over for downloadable songs that have no lyrics whatsoever. I thought I had found what I was looking for when I downloaded 2 songs from buykaraokedownloads.com. The website lets you preview the first 30-40 seconds of the song before you buy. I listened to the previews of both songs and there were no vocals. After downloading them and listening to the full songs I realized that the backup singers come on after the part that I had previewed. Argh, irritating. Anyway, the 2 songs that I'm looking for are "My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw and/or "Home to You" by John Michael Montgomery. I need the songs without any vocals because I was planning on using them in my wedding ceremony. My wedding is in a week. Please help me.

There's a program called Goldwave that allows you to "strip" the vocals from songs. It doesn't do a perfect job (you can sort of hear a faint echo in the background), but it might do in a pinch if you're stuck...

You can't "unmix" a song. Goldwave just drops the centermost channel(s) and hopes it works. If the vocals are panned slightly off center it'll miss them entirely. Worse yet, if something else is in the center channel it'll snip that too.

What I said was it strips the vocals, and I did point out that it doesn't do a very satisfactory job, but if you're really stuck it might do in a pinch. The only prog I know that allows you to do this. |
