I'll bet you fifty "Year 2058" dollars that the majority forgets about both of those songs in 50 years.

Am I the only one that knows "Clapton is God" is a popular saying misspelled in the kid's name?... anyhow.

Clatonisgod, I, too, am a classic rock fan. Though there's a fair few I disagree with on your list. In fact, a lot of them don't even deserve to be there. That's just my opinion... but, I can't even fathom sitting here and picking out my Top 25 Songs of All Time... That's just too general. That would take lists, and time, and... ****.

Yeah, I noticed that but since his spelling isn't the greatest in his post...

Sure I wouldn't mind 50 "year 2008" cents, lol. The thing about those songs is that kids are still getting into them even now - you still hear them trying to play the intro to stairway to heaven all the time in guitar center. So clearly there is something about them that crosses generational boundaries.

I think slowly but surely the eagles are losing touch. There just arent that many kids (as opposed to led zeppelin) into them these days, I think partly due to the stigma country music has. The only reason people know their music is because its played on the radio and they have the #1 best selling album of all time. Take the first option away and watch them dissapear.

And I just think there are better songs than stairway. Itll be around in 50 years, you're right.

'clapton is god' was spray painted all over the place in the mid 60s. then people heard hendrix and reconsidered their positions (clapton included).

that's a lovely prejudiced generalization you've got going about young people. the sooner you can drop it the sooner you'll learn about music that exists beyond the tv, radio, old man's collection.

who cares what a 7 year old does, unless you're their parent it's a non-issue. people have the freedom to like things that 'suck' as much as they want. if you don't like it then ignore it. no one wants to hear someone whining about how much another demographic sucks because they have different tastes.
