Exactly right. It's hardly arrogant to question the idea that sexuality has to be the simplistic dichotomy that Western culture conditions us to. Society likes to create stark black and white choices for the sake of ease; there's nothing that is universally True about that.
Morrissey obviously has elements to his style that can be interpreted as pretentious, but questioning pat labels is really not one of them.
