hmm top 4 i'll never tire of... no particular order.

yes it's a cheesy choice but really, i really never get tired of hearing it...

this next one is absolute gold to my ears, recorded 3 weeks before his death this album starts off with a great thelonious monk cover (epistrophy) and features my all time favourite piece of music (you don't know what love is). the one time dolphy speaks on this album also provided me with my mission statement in regards to music. a MASSIVE album on so many levels, anyone who even partially digs on free jazz or improvised music should definitely take a look at this one.

i know this one generally isn't considered this bands 'best' offering, but i don't care. the monumental 'spaceship landing' makes up for any perceived weaknesses earlier on the disc. my only complaint is the ridiculous amount of dead air before the hidden track 'day one'.

and last but not least, where no one said they had to be full length releases hehe it's the greatest EP i've ever heard.

probably me... i understand what he sees, but the strokes were my favorite band throughout high school, radiohead is my favorite, and neutral milk hotel was mentioned to me by a friend while i was listening to the decemberists before i was aware of any online music communities or its cult following... i had dial up internet at home until about 7 months ago (roflroflrofl)

if that's what you wanna label me then w/e, animals is the only album on that list which other people's recommendations got me into it

Definition of a Hipster
Hipster - One who possesses tastes, social attitudes, and opinions deemed cool by the cool. (Note: it is no longer recommended that one use the term "cool"; a Hipster would instead say "deck.") The Hipster walks among the masses in daily life but is not a part of them and shuns or reduces to kitsch anything held dear by the mainstream. A Hipster ideally possesses no more than 2% body fat.

Thank YOU hipster handbook

fwiw think they are just messing with you Fyrenza :o

'hipster' is more a misguided state of mind I'd say, dress-sense/music taste/general opinion being variable on what is deemed to be non-mainstream and cool at the time. As for 'chav-emo' I would have imagined they were conflicting subcultures lol... BOLLOCKS

Top 4 that I have had spinning regularly for a while and not needed to take a break from yet:

Random Impulse - Full Metal Alchemist

Guided By Voices - Alien Lanes

Final Fantasy VII OST (be kind)

bIG fLAME - Rigour ('83-'86)
