I only commented on what I know:
49: Nirvana: Nevermind I like Nirvana (in the minority on this board) but #49 of all time? Nahhh 48: The Beatles: Revolver Thank you for not putting this in the top 10. 47: Smashing Pumpkins: Pisec Iscariot A collection of B-Sides and EP tracks from a band who's best album should be listed at maybe #60-70 all time? 46: Pink Floyd: Animals Underrated Pink Floyd album. 45: Jimi Hendrix: Electric Ladyland This should be higher, its his best work. 43: Radiohead: Ok Computer Hmmm...even I think this should be higher, and I think its wicked overrated. 40: Pearl Jam: Ten This album blows, reheated arena rocked lumped in with the grunge phenomenon. Even Kurt Cobain said it sucked. 39: The Clash: London Calling Great album, ought to be higher. 38: The Red Hot Chili Peppers: Californication Boring stadium rock. 35: The Doors: L.A Woman Decent Doors album....shouldnt be in the top 180. 34: Rage Against The Machine: Rage Against The Machine I hate this band. I dont understand how someone can make their entire career bitching about establishment, yet make millions off same establishment and not seem to lose any credentials. 33: Soundgarden: Badmotorfinger How the fuck is this here and not any Black Sabbath? 31: Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin 4 Hmm..okay. Just, okay. 30: Iron Maiden: Piece of Mind I dont understand how people can enjoy this awful, awful band. 29: Journey: Escape ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! How are these albums getting worse? 26: Nirvana: In Utero I like In Utero 1000% more than Nevermind. Shouldnt be close to top 40 though. 25: Pink Floyd: Dark Side of The Moon Overrated as hell. Id say around #150-175 all-time 24: Megadeth: Coutdown To Extinction Well, this sucks. 23: The Beatles: White Album Great record, I wish it was always higher than Revolver. 22: The Beatles: Magical Mystery Tour Eh, theres a few losers on this album, still better than the majority of records out there though...thats not to say only 21 are better though... 20: The Beatles: Let It Be C'mon! Let it be is SUCH a mediocre Beatles album, even compared to the earlier stuff. If the Beatles werent affiliated with it, it wouldnt even be considered by anyone, theres only 2 good songs. 19: The Who: Tommy Tommy is the most annoying Who record. 18: Hanna Montana: Meet Miley Cyrus This is what I agree with most on the list, Miley Cyrus above Journey, Soundgarden, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Rage Against the Machine. 17: Neil Young: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere AWESOME record, I might even put this in a top 50 if I had the ability to be that decisive with music. 16: The Doors: Morrison Hotel This is like that generic 60's music people do the swim to. Its OK, not 16th all time. 15: Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here "Have a Cigar" has AWFUL lyrics, and usually I find they're writing pretty dece. 12: Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced Good, but overplayed. Ladyland is better. 11: Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness A good album, first one I ever really fell in love with, buuuuut theres far more than 10 records better. 10: Pearl Jam: Vitalogy The only Pearl Jam album I dont hate, which puts it at about #1000 all time. 9: Led Zeppelin: Houses of The Holy My favorite Zeppelin album should not be #9 8: Pearl Jam: VS Vs. Sucks. Really boring. 7: The Who: Quadrophenia Ehh, Im not a Quadro fan, early who is SOOO much better. 6: The Doors: The Doors Good album....#6? 5: The Beatles: Abbey Road This is the most accurate one. "abbey road", top 5. good call. 4: The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Id say #5-10 but again, no complaints. 3: The Who: Whos Next The only post 'sell out' album by the who that I like. #3's a little high. 2: Pink Floyd: The Wall This is god awful, boring music. I dont get how people like anything off this other than 'in the flesh' and 'numb'. 1: Radiohead: Kid A Kid A's pretty good, but #1? Eh, Ill spare you the complaints. Wow, I was really hyper critical, but I would be with anyone posting a top 50 album list I guess. I dont like it at all, but then, If I had posted a lit when I was 15, it would look ALOT like this. You can only comment on what you know. I would be suprised if alot of these albums were still on a top 50 if you made one 5 years from now. I guess, overall, I hate it, but all that means is that you need to branch out a little. Alot of those albums I really enjoy, I just disagreed with how high they were. |

I should also add that I cant stand the whiny vocals, and that macho rap-rock makes me cringe anyway, to me the hypocrisy is just icing on the cake. Im glad you acknowledge it though, I used to argue with a girl I knew saying that the hypocrisy was OK because they were "spreading awareness". I understood, but to me the 'awareness' is a moot point considering the fact that if 'the system' allows them to do what they love, be succesful and make millions, what could they possibly find wrong with it? |
