Winamp ain't too bad. The customization it has is okay, for example you can make queries to only show music within a certain timeframe specified by the date tag. I also like the fact that it's search also includes directory structure.
For example, I might have the directory : Music\C\Caravan\1970s\1971 - In the Land of Grey and Pink [Studio album]\ With various mp3s in it. With a search in the winamp search bar, this album would come up in searches like "caravan studio album 1970s". Of course Foobar does that and tons more, potentially, but if I didn't use that, I'd probably go back to Winamp.

Too bad your the most organized person ever Tore. I bet no music player is good enough for your habits. Your library is probably sooooooooooo clean, without 1 mislabeled tag. I envy that.

An EQ is meant to correct errors in your audio rig or in your listening room, not to 'edit' the music you're listening to. Altough it should be said that some (awful) recordings do sound a bit better with some EQ'ing.

To get stuff tagged correctly, I did a lot of tagging in foobar using various plugins and tagging scripts, some of which I largely wrote myself that fetch album and track information and pictures from various databases.
Seltzer is working on a bulk tagger plugin for foobar which sounds great http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/50...ar-plugin.html

I guess, but I bet the vast majority of people tinkering with EQ's are doing it more in a music editing sense. hell, I don't really know what my system's deficiencies are, I just go with it.

Haha, they do .
The vast majority of people turns their bass and treble button up on their amplifiers, too. I don't really have a choice though:
