i've been working on it for about a year now. i'm mostly happy with it, i just need to adjust the font colors and a few other things... it has a lot more that you don't see, like auto-downloading of artist images from last.fm, and even my weekly last.fm charts. oh crap i just choked on my coffee and spat all over my monitor

I have several foobars which I use depending on the situation. For example on my laptop, I run stripped down version which still allows for media library browsing and so on, but which does not require much.
I also have a DarkOne foobar, but I definetly spent some time tinkering with it before it looked nice. For example, those panels on the right in that screenshot just don't look like they fit at all. I had those replaced with a much nicer library tree. If something's missing from your foobar, you may be able to add it yourself.

Whenever I hear people talk about foobar I always get the idea that it's brilliant. But whenever I try it, I don't think much of it. I get the idea it's plugins that make the program work properly. Probably should put some time in it.

foobar is brilliant. it just has a bit of a learning curve...
plugins are definitely part of it. there's an essential plugin called Columns UI that basically revamps the whole interface, giving you much greater flexibility over what goes where. once you have that installed, and you learn the basic scripting language that the player uses, then the sky's the limit. foobar is powerful, flexible, and versatile to anyone who takes the time to learn its secrets

Scripting language. Meuh...
I'm too old for that No seriously, I used to enjoy programming and text based OSes. But I really can't be bothered now. I'm glad we have all these graphic shells nowadays.

I've tried tinkering around with the panels on the right but i still couldn't get something that suited properly so i just left it. I prefer using the filter rather than the library tree though.
