As for the ELPlaylist, I stole it's script from another theme and sort of built up my own look around it. The mod track panel comes from you so then there's not that much left which require work really. ELPlaylist certainly is much harder though there hasn't been much need for me to add code. I've slapped on album type to the grouping headers and increased the size of the album art and that's a 2 minutes job tops. As for this setup, I like the way it looks but I actually miss the scrollbar. I can make it reappear, but then it doesn't look right! If only there was a way to customize the look of those without changing your whole Windows setup ..

Did anybody else start using the Soft Playlists plug-in for Foobar2000? It creates playlists based on your Last.fm top tracks, loved tracks etc as well as your friends and neighbours top tracks. And it has a function like Genius as well so you can create playlists that go well with a certain song. It's pretty damn good

I simplified my Winamp over Christmas because it was just getting too slow. I honestly love this method, I just pick out a serious of albums at random, set it on shuffle, and let it play. Sure it's not fancy like some of those foobar pictures, but damn is it ever efficient. |

Okay, time for a little update I've been using Foobar for a little while now and have also been working on a dark theme. This was completed quite a while ago (last post), but I've since had to redo a few things, mainly components which caused crashes. The peakmeter spectrum had to go for example.
Here's my current layout : The above shows my ElPlaylist which is the one I normally use. As you can see, groups can collapse if you want, making browsing through albums quicker. With a click of a button, you can switch to the columns playlist which can be useful for organizing files and so on. Sometimes, it's just easier to have a list of tracks without album art. And then, with a click of another button, the whole thing becomes : Which shows basically info / cycling artist pictures / lyrics .. It's not something I use often, but if we have a party, I put my foobar on our LCD TV and it looks pretty good .. Although there's still more I could do to perfect that last one! Aside from the visuals, there's a lot going on under the hood. The most important I guess is album art, artist pictures and lyrics are downloaded and stored on my HD automatically. I've finally gotten to where I want with foobar - almost - in regards to tagging as well. For genres, I use the discogs style-guide as a basis and have managed to modify/write some python scripts which fetch the right tags for me in a sensible way, minimizing the amount of requests sent to server and so on. Foobar rocks!

cool! glad i was able to successfully convert you
i love your full screen mode. you should incorporate album art in there too i use CD Art Display myself - it is dead easy to skin and offers lots of flexibility. you dove a lot deeper into customization and scripting than i dared to do, and the result is very nice
