This really doesnt have to do with my current music player.... But just a feature I liked about Itunes.

Since I am not using Itunes anymore... Is there something out there that can replace genius? I never really used its playlists in whole but I liked how it gave me ideas what I can put in playlists.

Mean if it was just a website that just pulled out songs that I would like If I liked that song. I know there are sites out there... I dont even have to be able to listen to the songs on the website just a list, would be enough for me.

Just whats some good ones to start with?

last.fm

many players these days let you send the songs you listen to over to your last.fm profile (they call it 'scrobbling'). over time it builds up a huge list of recommendations based on the stuff you listen to. very very cool service.

I dunno how I could help you with suggesting something other than iTunes, but I agree, Genius is pretty awesome. I use it alot.

Ya but last.fm just plays the songs.... It doesnt make a list of songs for you. Which is pretty cool, I use Last.fm on the xbox to play stuff while I am cleaning or something.

I tried messing with pandora but I way prefer Last.fm.... I was just hoping someone had created something like genius on the web somewhere.

*Edit... I found something for Winamp it seems Unsupported at the momment considering the people who made it were bought out or something. Seems Musicip use to come with Winamp but it was discontinued so they took it out.

But heres an article on it and a download at the bottom for the plugin.
LINK TO ARTICLE AND PLUGIN

I am not sure how well it works considering it taking about a hour and half to get through half of my collection at least thats where the bar is.... Not sure if it has to do anything else.

the latest iteration of my foobar config, with a dark visual style i used for about a day. it looks pretty damn slick, but it's not very usable unfortunately...

This is my next step with foobar is to try and skin it. That looks pretty sick, I especially love the font you used on the left side with the artist/album/menu bar.

It still looks good, noise

I'd love to get a dark theme in my foobar, but it just seems like a lot to figure out at the moment. I guess I'd have to make my own toolbars with play buttons etc, etc, etc. I'm aware there are themes, though. Maybe someone's done something I can build on.

Since my last post, I actually went and made a dark version of my own theme with a few tweaks. Aside from a lack of scrollbar, it's as functional as my white theme.

Check it out!

wow, nice!

i saw your progress in the Hydrogen Audio forums today. you're a brave man to mess with some of those more complex components like Panel Stack Splitter. looks like you switched to EL Playlists too. too much scripting for me!

looks good though
