![]() Youtube videos The videos people post on youtube from their mobile phones This one really pisses me off. I go on youtube, searching for a music video or a good quality live recording of a band, and all I can find is this CRAP! Half a megapixel cameras that have recorded bands live, usually where you can only see the top half of the stage because so many people are in the way and the sound is reminicant of crumbling paper up, but its louder and distorted. I'm guilty of posting videos of live performances to youtube, and sometimes the sound isn't the best, but I use a 10.1 megapixel digital camera to do it, so I save myself some dignity. For some examples of my work go to: YouTube - ArmyofFreshmenFan's Channel The sound quality is actually really good for my poor camera and make sure you press 'watch in high quality'. But it's so annoying trying to find a good live video (because, in the words of Slash, you can't judge a band until you've heard or seen them live) and that's what I like doing. However people posting videos with low quality image, jumping around with the camera so you can't see anything and hearing little apart from the camera holder screaming is just a complete waste of space on youtube. These videos are no more than spam. These people need to invest in a decent quality camera, if you want proof that you went to a gig, take some good quality photos and write a blog... don't show us your crappy sounding videos.

Because that post didnt imply an ignorance of what you were bashing...it seemed that like many of us, you also were frustrated at poorly filmed performances, you demonstrated enough knowledge to criticize...thats all we ask. Stick to posts like these and you wont be attacked as harshly. |

Regardless of whether individuals find it offensive or not it does have racial connotations and reflects badly on the forum if we allow it's use here.
So from now on nobody will use this term again. anyone who does can look forward to a lengthy ban. And yes that also includes anyone who uses it in jest as well. This ends here and now.

![]() Myspace Bands The ones who send you friend requests out of NOWHERE! Now I won't be completely harsh about this, some of the bands I've accepted have turned out pretty good, but usually you get a pretyped message from a band, or a stupid flier, declaring themselves new, fresh, exciting and all that jazz and we should 'check out their tunes' and usually... they're nowhere near new or exciting and the songs tend to generally suck. There's getting new fans... and there's trying TOO hard and I believe this falls into the category of TOO hard. But I will admit that there are some amazing bands I'd have not heard of if it weren't for myspace, and most of the bands I like on myspace are local, but most of the friend requests I recieve are from American bands... who will probably never gig anywhere near me... WHERE DO THEY LOOK TO FIND ME!? But if you're looking for some cool new bands to get into, I suggest checking out: Dirty Bob Fell On Black Days and One Man And His Beard And no... none of these bands are mine, because my band isn't particularly groundbreaking, so we won't be asking for friend req's declaring such.
