Fenders really have been marketed to the general masses, and it seems like everyone and their mothers plays them. Now, I personally like American Standards, but you'll never find a guitar that's more overplayed.

I would never knock on Fender, but only for the existence of the Telecaster.

A nice strat sounds incredible.

I agree, but usually the people knocking on Fenders don't know anything about music anyway.

I think the fact that Hendrix played one nullifies the 1000+ pop-punk bands that use them.

LOL. Yeah. If it's good enough for Hendrix.

Really, what's the difference between the guitars? Is it just what looks "cool?" Most bands pile so many effects onto the guitars that it doesn't really matter. Then again, I'm not really into guitars...

The differences are quality of wood, type of wood, pickups, hollow bodied vs solid bodied etc. etc.

It's all down to the sound of the guitar. E.g Les Pauls have a good, ballsey sound which coupled with a marshall blows your ****ing head off. lol.

I think that they're both on a par, but I like Les Pauls more, so y'know. They make different guitars and they make them the best.

Wow... it's almost strange having no controversy over a post I've made... thanks.
