This is just fucking stupid.
You do know that it's impossible to discern between an indie kid from someone who doesn't even listen to music? They dress the same as every other person living in the Western Hemisphere. Jeans and a t-shirt: holy sh!t, now that's quite a statement.

The Pixies are an indie staple. If in your experience "indie kids" don't know the Pixies, then your experience is atypical.
Mudhoney is also a pretty name-checked band, as a proto-grunge band, like Sonic Youth. Most indieheads like Nirvana and Mudhoney and love Sonic Youth. So, really, your entry doesn't seem to connect with reality at all. And it's not very well-written. Rants have to be amusingly written to be at all interesting.

Actually, I think ALOT/MOST of what Cobe said is right on afaic, infact, I think i feel the same way about most of the ****ty "current" music/bands on the radio now. I'm glad I've kicked myself off radio now though, as these bands/music are just making it more and more difficult for me to listen nowadays. It all sounds the same to me, alot of these bands are just trying to steal from past bands, why? I'm not sure, but IMHO, they are.

I know a lot of people here are indie kids or fans, so I thought I'd get this one out of the way quick and early, but the fact remains that this is my honest belief on the subject.
But like I've said, these are my personal experiences. The indie kids I have met have all hated grunge, didn't know the pixies (actually they laughed at me for listening to such stuff) and the clothing has just been annoying. More than a jeans, t shirt thing. With stupid t shirts and drainpipe jeans in some cases. I can't stick it.

Personally, I love it, but the majority of the indie kids I have met just hate the stuff, saying it's old and boring... when their music is boring after about 5 minutes and is old as soon as the newest copycat indie band put out a carbon copy album under a different name.
