You know electronic music is just music with electronic instruments right?
most of the time theres still a dude playing a synth on the other end. sampling and manipulation is just an extension of the recording studio as an instrument and effects unit idea that hendrix wanted to achieve im in a largely electronic band and believe me...writing and performing is every bit as challenging as being in a normal guitar band (im also in one of them) and the process can be very similar granted im talking about certain genres of electronic music some of it you could knock up on acid in 5 minutes and thats the chav **** and check out wu-tang clan, public enemy, run dmc and a few god beastie boys albums before you disregard rap altogether thats just as bad as disregarding country a last note: chavs suck ass

What the hell is a "chav?" I've never heard the term until Cobe Kai began posting. Is it some Brit slang?

Rap is great music. Aesop Rock, CunninLynguists, Darc Mind, Fugees, The Roots and Wu Tang are great rap. Listen to those artist and tell me that there is no emotion. For electronic just check out Lamb, Massive Attack, Portishead, UNKLE, Amon Tobin, The Books and Burial. They are all great "button pressers" and create real music. For R&B throw on some Hil ST. Soul, Jaguar Wright, Jill Scott or any of the older R&B classics. That's great music right there. Some of them write their own music and the ones who don't... who cares? As long as they feel what they are singing about and help you to feel it too. There is just way to much good music out there to be closed minded and ignorant. Also hating on a genre of music because of scene kids is just dumb. I don't like scene kids either, but it's not like scene kids just pop out of thin air when I play Pavement. So why do I care if music I enjoy is being played by people who will just move along to something else in a year or two. |
