US 2008 Election Playlist
Some suggestions:
"Won't Get Fooled Again"- The Who. Of course. Obvious, but painfully relevant. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss... "Shot By Both Sides"- Magazine. I'm pretty sure nobody is truly gung-ho about either major party candidate. "Lipstick"- Buzzcocks. For all the wrong reasons...(here's praying that, in the future, this song won't always conjure up images of Sarah Palin. ::Shudder: "Masters Of War"- Bob Dylan. "A world war can be won/You want me to believe." "I Wanna Be Adored"- The Stone Roses. "I don't have to sell my soul; he's already in me" "Shipbuilding"- Elvis Costello. "It's all we're skilled in"...thanks to outsourcing, etc. that's actually pretty accurate these days. "Blues From A Gun"- The Jesus & Mary Chain. For anyone who's feeling more paranoid as the election date nears. "Too young kid, you're gonna get hit/Looks like you're never gonna make it off the government list." "Crucifixion"- Phil Ochs. A completely different meaning in this context, but still valid. "The eyes of the rebel have been blinded by the blind" indeed!

The 1991 performance? Cool arrangement, but the vocal's pretty off. I'd go with one of the 1988 versions for a "heavy" version.
