Stolen Song Beat?

My friend showed me a song name:

Shut Up and Let Me Go- The Ting Tings

And after hearing it a couple times I remember hearing that beat that they play the entire time in the back ground. So today I hear it again and instantly remember what Song/Band it sounded like...

Take Me Out- Franz Ferdinand

Listen to the whole song and you'll realize what I mean.

I'm afraid I shall give this a miss as listening to an entire song by the Ting Tings would probably make me go out & hurt somebody.

As if no band has ever ripped off another before...

I'm not saying that no band hasn't. Just bringing it to light.

For what reason? Seriously. I don't understand the need to make a thread about two similar sounding songs when there are threads aplenty on here crying out for new posts.

this happens all the time like rihannas SOS has the same background music as Ramones Tainted Love its called sampling

Franz Ferdinand suck anyways so who would argue whether they stole a beat or not?

I don't think the beat is stolen, I think they're just similar, or maybe they "payed homage". I don't think it was stolen, though; Shut Up And Let Me Go doesn't have that little guitar sounding thing that Take Me On does. I think.

Anyone noticed Jack Johnsons Cookie Jar song is VERY similar to Bob Dylans Who Killed Davey Moore - both in musical style / melody AND song message?

Both great songs though.
