I would have to say David Cook.

He's a great vocalist and his new single is amazing.
It kinda has a 90's alternative feel.

Him and Chris Daughtry are about the only two people I can stand from American Idol.

I can't really relate to David Cook, but I can relate to liking some pretty random artists.
But recently I took interest in Kimya Dawson, from Juno soundtrack. Theres not a lot to her songs, but at the same time they maintain a really unique style. Their pretty random, and mildly entertaining.
Also a remix of You Can't Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones, from the 21 soundtrack caught my eye.

Well, I got into Opeth two weeks ago. I really like the guitar in their songs, especially Porcelain Heart, and I think that Mikael Akerfeldt's vocals are amazing. His death growls are good too.

I gave Sparta a listen last night, and I liked 'em. At one point I even forgot that I was listening to Sparta, and thought it was ATDI. I'll have to download some more of them today.

Ratatat, but I only really enjoy a few songs of theirs. Their remixes are okay, but nothing special. I try not to be balls-deep into a band so I won't get sick of them later on.

Good philosophy, lucifer_sam.
And I've heard some of Opeth, but I don't think I've heard anything by Sparta.

I heard a new band last night called Lynam. Sounds like one of those new alternative metal bands. Heard it on XM.
Their new single is called "Save My Soul".
I'm gonna have to check out some more stuff by them.
