What muisc genre would Muse be under?

i love muse...they are awesome as hell...and who cares what genre.

True....but my brother keeps bugging me and wants to know what genre they are and its starting to piss me off...

^it'll confuse him cause its obviously not country. trust me, it'll be funny to watch him get all frustrated.

Tell him they're indie, but not proper indie, the false indie they made up to confuse people.

to me I would say college radio or possible indie. or alternative rock. Its not hard or heavy but more like soft rock. Good band.
