Yeah well Axl pushed over the Nirvana trailer with Frances in it.
I'm pretty sure that's being a pretty big *******. Btw, Back in Black sold 19 million in the USA alone but I mean I'm prolly full of bull**** too right? The Wall also sold 23 million in the USA alone....and that was released in 1979, considerably AFTER The Beatles. So if you're going to say I'm wrong and this is bull**** then you're probably in GNR denial, my friend. But I mean what do I know?? I'm not a Guns N Roses fan so I probably don't know anything according to your logic.

You are not making up numbers unlike that other guy. And yes the wall sold 23 million but guess what it really only sold 11.5 but it was a double albums so for one cd sold it counts as two sales. I will stand by what I said, guns n roses in the 90s were the biggest band in the world since the beatles. I am not sure how old some of you are but if you remember the 90s gnr were beatle big and if you claim they were not then you are just lying. |

But what about my claim to Back in Black?
You just skipped right over that didn't you now? AND, if we're only comparing bands according to album sales then what about Fleetwood Mac with Rumours in 77'? I'm pretty sure that sold way more than AFD. Oh wait I was going to make another point. If the double sided Pink Floyd album sold 11.5 million X 2 (counting as two sales) then it doesn't matter anyway lol. It's the same artist, still sold more than any two Guns N Roses albums.

Did AD DC ever have two albums in the top 5 at the same time? NEVER and guess what guns n roses did it TWICE with UYI 1 and UYI 2 plus they did it when AFD And Lies were in the top 5 at the same time. And AC DC and Pink Floyd have nothing to do with proving that nirvana was bigger than guns n roses in the 90s. Like I said before people forget about huge guns n roses were in the early 90s but it is fine, I wont hold that ignorance against you. Being the biggest band in the world does not just include who had one bigger selling album, it has to did with album sales, touring, radio play, popularity and buzz, guns n roses had all that more so than those other bands. Like I said before look at the night the UYIs were released you had hundreds of people in line in every state waiting for that album, AC DC, pink Floyd, Nirvana or any other band since the Beatles had anything that huge for an album release. If I am not mistaken when gnr did that in 1991 that broke some kind of record for albums sales in one day, yes more than AC DC, Floyd, The eagles etc. AFD is also still the best selling debute rock album ever, again better than those bands you mentioned. If you really want to get into semantics then fine guns n roses were one of the biggest bands since the Beatles. Is that better? It still does not change the fact that Gnr were much more popular than nirvana. |

Anyway, I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree that GNR were not as popular as Nirvana, even if Nirvana sold less albums. But, truth be told, no matter how large the GNR album sales were or how big their fan base was, they are not the best rock band since The Beatles. That's just absurd. Maybe top ten but THE BEST??? no way!

Do you even remember the day the UYIs came out? Or the build up to it? It was huge, and nothing was that big since the days of the beatles. What do you base that nirvana was bigger than gnr? You really don’t have a let to stand on since I already owned the other guy on that topic. In the early 90s guns n roses were everywhere. And again, I NEVER said that gnr were the best band since the Beatles; I said they were the biggest. I even said, Ill say one of the biggest since you wanted to talk semantics but the fact of the matter is gnr were much bigger than nirvana ever was. You cant and that other guy cant even back up how nirvana was bigger. Just try to give some reasons why you think nirvana was bigger. Then we can go from there. Oh and for the record guns n roses are one of the 10 best bands ever, and nirvana is not even in the top 25. |

To say they were the biggest since the beatles is nuts.
I dont know how you cant accept that...maybe axl's super h0mo erotic tight pants really sealed ur devotion to GNR but they arent the biggest since the beatles....end of story.

I ask the people who claim that gnr were not the biggest band since the beatles to give an example who was? Name me one band that in three years played in front of more than 7 million people?
Hate to break it to you but you won't find one since the UYI tour from 91-93 was the biggest tour in history. Or name me another rock band that had two albums place in the top 5 at the same time (gnr did it twice). There are none since the 60s besides guns n roses. So as much as this board hates gnr you are a fool if you can't accept the fact that gnr in the 90s were one of the biggest bands since the beatles. Again gnr set the record for most album sales in one day and I think one week with the UYIs for a rock band. And talent is opinion but who was bigger is not an opinion its fact. And I have backed up that gnr were much bigger than nirvana, and they are also infact one of the biggest bands since the beatles. That is all, you have lost. Good day. |
