I believe CD was 'doomed' from the very begining.
Regardless of the musical quality of the album, the biggest problem was the waiting period ie. how much time took Axl to finish it. And of course, the expectations during this decade or so got higher and higher (especially from the GNR fans) and everyone expected CD to be some kinda of a masterpiece that would compensate for all these years of waiting. |

chinese democracy(the cd) was quite a let down after being brought up on appetite for destruction blasting through the house 24 hours day. Albeit the title track was a good song in my opinion the rest was sub-par to velvel revolver

I will agree with you on this. GnR WAS great. However, anyone with a pulse and a set of ears can see that Chinese Democracy is not GnR anymore but something completely different. Last week, Chi Dem fell another 20 or so spots, selling only 7,000+ Now Appetite for Destruction is outselling Chi Dem on a weekly basis... I don't think Best Buy is too excited anymore... what happened Axl?? Please put away your ProTools and send Slash a letter asking him to rejoin the band. That is all I ask as a huge GnR fan |
