No he only wrote 26 songs that appeared on their first 4 releases.

If you listen to the solo material of the different members you can see why the result of them all coming together was so explosive. It also serves to emphasise why as soon as the original line-up began to split apart it was never as good again. By this I mean Appetite was the pinnacle, although to follow up and surpass perhaps the greatest record of all time was always going to be a virtual impossibility.
The solo work of the original members has merits, Duff's and Izzy's being the strongest, but Velvet Revolver never recaptured it, which just proves it was about unique chemistry between five eclectic talents in a specific time and place, ie the 80s LA rock scene.

Welcome to the Jungle, I will never forget the first time I heard that song in High School, racing down the road near my HS, blasting it... it got it all started for GnR....

Personally, I like "Patience", "One in a Million" and "Anything Goes".

I've always thought if people consider November Rain Guns n Roses best song they've kind of missed the point of what made Guns n Roses good in the first place.

It certainly wasn't turgid overlong over produced sappy ballads.

Yeah, November Rain is one of their most popular songs, but I really don't like it that much.
