We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

So its appearing to me that most UYI fans think II is better than I. Can I just get a casual opinion on this one?

Axl really needs to let dead dogs lie and just try to work it out with Slash, he really needs him.
Hell even the new SP have two original members instead of just one. A GnR without Matt or Duff sure, but a GnR without Izzy is a stetch, let alone a GnR without Slash, which is just foolish. Guitar is the most important ingredient in GnRs music. Not even Buckethead with his amazing technical prowess could play Slash's stuff live, he even f*cked up the riff to Welcome to the Jungle. Weither or not Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (the new lead guitarist) will do any better is anyones guess, I can say that I know for a fact he is a damn good guitarist, but he's a shredder, and shredders don't belong in GnR. Ok well that really didn't answer my question but Ill ask another one you seem to be able to get, what is axls preference for people who shred? I mean I owe 6 buckethead albums and I love the guy, but he's not the reincarnation of Keef. And if you're making gnr, you need to have someone who thinks keef is the ****.

Slash is a lead player. Keith is predominately a rhythm player, he plays lead too, but his best moments are always in his rhythm playing. Izzy is more like Keith than Slash. |

it was more in asthetic perception. Keef keeps the stones grounded from taking off into ridiculous stupidity in my opinion. As we've seen, without the Slahsh-anchor, Gun's is trying to be a NIN/Queen combo.

I don't think its a good thing. Musically, Slash was the main event in Guns N Roses, and Izzy was the one that held everything together.
Now they have Ron Thal (a super shredder and virtuoso) on guitar, Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails) on guitar, Tommy Stinson (The Replacements) on bass and Brain Mantia (Primus) on drums, not a bad ensemble. But it ain't GnR. Last edited by boo boo; 07-13-2007 at 10:49 AM. |
