I heard Tommy Hilfiger picked a fight with Axl last week! 'cause he touched Tommy's *** hag's drink! WTF!? Now that would be the bitch fight to watch!

GNR sucks balls.

stakeraiser 05-23-2006 08:46 AM

not their best effort

littleknowitall 05-23-2006 09:14 AM

Twat Waffle 05-23-2006 11:59 PM

Never heard it, and I don't plan on hearing it.

SimeyC 05-24-2006 06:11 AM

Isn't there supposed to be a song with Brian May - from what I hear on the Radio this is an amazing song!!!

i kinda do too, after all, the majority of the 80s hair metal bands music revolved around having fun, partying, girls, and more partying.. but when GNR made it big, even if they were from the same hollywood hair scene, they had more anger and aggression in their music the way metal was originally intended. it kinda kicked every other bands ass that was just into looking pretty & getting laid.

Probably as in 'Eurgh i don't like this song'. It is 'icky', as it were.

littleknowitall 05-28-2006 09:06 AM

oh, well they could have left a reason or something atleast, it seemed a bit of a pointless post to be honest...

TheBig3 05-28-2006 09:31 AM

I think its a pretty good song, there are some faulty points such as "selling soliders in a human grocery store" but they don't hang on that line, its here and gone as fast as the song will allow and some of the stazas aren't so much poetry but heartfelt observation, almost springsteen-esque:

"Did you wear a balck armband when they shot the man who said "peace could last forever", and in my first memories they shot Kennedy, I went numb when I learned to see so I never fell for Vietnam gat the wall in DC to remind us all that ya can't trust freedom when its not in your hands, when everbodys fightin' for the promised land and..."

I don't know, I think thats just an honest line about how [whoever wrote it] felt about the situation in 1991. The nice part is, its still relevent for as long as theres war. Someones always fighting for the cause they think is right and GnR wrote about it in a manner that wasn't too over the top but at the same time wasn't laconic in its thought and delivery.

I really like the song.

littleknowitall 05-28-2006 09:32 AM

i can't see why there's so much negativity towards guns n roses, there seem to be more guns n roses haters on here than there are good charlotte haters. its absurd.

and i really did like every line of the lyrics :D

also, they sampled cool hand luke, so in conclusion there's nothing about it that isn't awesome in my books!

TheBig3 05-28-2006 09:35 AM

/\ Because hating GC doesn't get you noticed. Saying you don't like a band when theres only a sliver of a reason not to makes poeple like you write posts like this.

They want the attention you give them. Let them starve and ultimatly commit suicicde moley, just let them die.

see, you took the words right out of my mouth :)

dojo 05-28-2006 12:28 PM

"what's so civil about war?" Love the line :)

Nice song, I have to confess that I liked it.

TheBig3 05-28-2006 02:45 PM

So I wrote a whole giant ass paragraph on why I think the song is quality, no one will refute me?

Reznorslave 05-28-2006 02:55 PM

This song is awesome as is GNR!!! If Axl and Slash ever hooked up again (which won't happen) and released an album, it would be one of the most anticipated releases ever. Despite years of nothing musically and an unending amount of Axl drama and weirdness, this band is still relevant!!!

PS Appetite for Destruction=Pure Genius

holdyoualways 05-28-2006 03:03 PM

i havent heard the new song yet
i kind of dont want to
but i was watching this metal histroy thing on vh1
& yes i know gnr arent metal
& as much as a lot of people here say they suck, i absolutely love them
so that kind of gives me incentive to maybe possibly check the new stuff out
...maybe...

TheBig3 05-28-2006 03:11 PM

The New song I heard is awesome.

ZeppelinAir 06-06-2006 10:23 PM

the gnr album is one i will have to get, just cause im a huge guns and roses fan

There is a live video from 2001 (i think) of Axle's lineup with Buckethead, doing November Rain. It is horrible. I mean, apart from the fact that Axle took too many drugs and f**ked his voice, the solos are so way painful to listen to. Buckethead had nothing on Slash. It just sounded terrible. I have no muscial talent, i admit, but it doesn't take a genius to want to /wrists hearing him do the solos. He was looking at his guitar the whole time, like he didn't even know the song. No stage presence at all.

Ive had this conversation too many times with a GNR freak, so i guess i may also be slightly biased, but buckethead was not a good thing at all. As for Ron Thal, whilst interested i am to hear the new sound, i think i'd rather keep my love for GnR untainted by disappointment.

It's all a bit "inxs rockstar" i guess. A reality TV show to replace the singer of one of Australia's most successful rock bands. All a bit try-hard if you ask me. And besides, the "switch" album, totally ruined their sound, and i've so gone off them now.

So i might keep away from the new stuff. If i want to see GNR play, i reckon i'd even prefer a tribute band... because at least you sort of expect ruin anyway.

id probably buy it. and never listen to it. crazy, but i think id never forgive myself if i ddn't have it. Like 'Lies' is a shocking album, but without it, the collection just isn't complete!

Buckethead is just as good a guitarist as Slash is, if not better.

i shouldn't criticise because that nnovember rain video was the only thing id seen him do. but given how much i loved the song it ruined any tolerance i might have to actually listen to buckethead at another time.

motley_crue131 06-09-2006 09:29 AM

this is awesome i cant wait till the original band comes to atlanta. screw u ppl who think axl sux hes one of the greatest vocalists of all time in my opinion

stakeraiser 06-09-2006 10:20 AM
