College radio is good as long as they're playing music. When they open their mouths it goes downhill from there.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

I thought it was only Croatia...I feel your pain.

I didn't know that. That's hilarious. J-Ho always complained that Ozzfest was the worst thing ever, but I didn't really understand why.

There's one, maybe two radio stations I can stomach in my area out of probably sixteen or seventeen. The ones that elect to showcase one genre broadcast overplayed garbage and the "diverse" stations are exactly what you called them. And then there's the DJs, who act like complete asswipes.

Completely agreed on Sharon Osbourne. In fact, she'd probably be a little closer to the top 10 for me.

The classic rock radio station back in Whangarei was once better, but nowadays it's completely dull. They have one stale formula they seem to stick to: Play one of the four songs Pink Floyd ever wrote, an AC/DC song, Black Betty, a DP song from In Rock, Def Leppard, some crappy pop metal songs and a NZ rock song (by Split Enz, Crowded House, Th'Dudes, Dragon etc). Their idea of experimentation is to play Smells Like Teen Spirit or Plush and maybe even a Foo Fighters song to appeal to younger people. Sickeningly formulaic... and to think that's probably the best radio station there.

All the local radio stations here in Houston are shit. All they play is the same 20 songs all day long, except the classic rock station, which is the only half-way decent one we have.
I don't even listen to the radio anymore.

Our rock radio station plays really sh!tty new rock like Theory Of A Deadman, Nickelback, Hinder, and Three Days Grace. What aggrivates me more is that one of their slogans is "the best classic rock, and new rock that doesn't suck!". I think they need to seriously work on the latter. It's all that same constipated-vocals-fused-with-acoustic-guitar-verses-and-heavier-choruses-and-lyrical-content-dealing-with-sex-and-how-some-slut-left-you-mixed-in-with-some-mild-curse-words. They play all right classic rock, though, and a lot of good local/Canadian rock. Unfortunately, the only punk they play is The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and The Ramones, and that's very rare. Thank god for MP3 players.

I'm amazed they play punk at all. Here they don't play any punk, metal, hardcore rap...pretty much it's ALL Hinder my Theory of a Nickleback, mellow rock and r&b, and country (of course, this is Texas). But, the only time they play good country is on Sunday. The rest of this time it's the new crappy country music.

Lucky you. The only punk they play down here is pop punk (Green Day, Offsprings, Sum 41, etc)

Here are the last song played for one (of the two) rock stations in Miami.
