youtube has easily the dumbest people ever. EVER. I try to avoid reading comments on videos and just enjoy the video itself but damn.

Son of JayJamJah 08-17-2008 09:07 AM

youtube is awesome, one of the best sites ever

Zombeels 08-17-2008 12:59 PM

I'm sure this list will walk over everyone at one point. It's great.

Music_Guru44 08-19-2008 03:07 PM

i agree youtube is great, best place for boredom

but like i know if you have something against youtube music wise, like have music videos, which arent reallly a big deal if you ask me and just songs put on there with a picture as a video, it sorta stupid

boo boo 08-19-2008 04:06 PM

Youtube is great and all, but it just confirms the fact that non-forum websites shouldn't have message boards of any kind.

swim 08-19-2008 04:07 PM

On videos of more obscure bands there tends to be some really cool info in the comments.

Farfisa 08-19-2008 04:58 PM

'tis true, but sometimes you see hardcore fans of a band get into an argument that lasts 3 pages.

swim 08-19-2008 05:37 PM

I think the most annoying thing on the musical sector of the internet is tag debates on last fm. Half of them have the word emo involved :(

Alfred 08-19-2008 06:08 PM

swim 08-20-2008 09:57 AM

I have a feeling fans of "real" emo is going to make it.

boo boo 08-20-2008 03:58 PM

I sure hope so.

My general problem with them is the same as Urbans. "Real" emo fans tend to be indie kids who rant about how everything people think is emo is "fake" emo and that "real" emo is where the good stuff is at, even though for the most part "real" emo is just as horrible or even worse.

swim 08-20-2008 04:07 PM

I think you'd like Kulara.

Emo was always an offensive term, mentioned in a Erectus Monotone song as an insult in the early as '91. Just out of pure curiousity what have you heard that you don't like?

boo boo 08-20-2008 04:57 PM

Sunny Day Real Estate, The Get Up Kids, Rites of Spring, Cap'n Jazz, among others.

swim 08-20-2008 05:30 PM

Well those are extremely overrated but I can't say you've been led astray.

shut the fuck up you like emo lol. It works both ways, see? Emo hipster nerds are just as bad as every other music stereotype.

I dinnt know SDRE was considered emo. I suppose you lern sumthin new every day...

Alfred 08-20-2008 07:54 PM

Post-emo/Indie Emo. I'm not sure if all emo fans consider it emo. I'd call it emo, but a variant of it.

Gah, what the hell am I talking about?

No, much worse I think. Prog fans are either members of your schools chess club or your jolly hippie uncle, Emo kids are the people you just want to punch in the face for being such obnoxious and stupid attention whores.

lucifer_sam 08-20-2008 08:20 PM

My friend is a neo-hippie and he doesn't listen to much prog. =( Although he did get me into Godspeed, which is pretty sweet.

15Steps 08-20-2008 11:37 PM

i like the rites of spring.

"Well Sgt Pepper is the greatest album ever and Ringo was a really underrated drummer they were so progressive for a pop band and they revolutionized music , and Ringo was a really underrated drummer and George Harrison was such an underrated guitarist and they influenced so much and the white album is fantastic and Lennon and McCartney were the best songwriting duo ever and Ringo was such an underrated drummer and Revolver was a fantastic album and anyone who was ever any good copied something from them and nobody else from that time was anywhere near as good as them and Ringo was such an underrated drummer and they're the best band in rock and roll history and Yellow Submarine was a great song .... LOL!!!!!! and Ringo was such an underrated drummer blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah".

Look we already know this , we know this because The Beatles just happen to be THE MOST WELL KNOWN POP BAND OF ALL TIME. I don't need to be reminded of it every fucking 5 minutes.

Though I love The Beatles a lot, I can't help but agree on this.

There're are too many kids in the early teens who think they know everything about music because they own Beatles 1 and What The Story Morning Glory. (Beatles fans tend to be Oasis fans too, sadly.) By all means, enjoy that music, but there is so much more stuff to explore, made by many wonderful artists over the last 60 years, for one to stick to just one (or two) bands. They're really missing out.

TheBig3 08-22-2008 02:07 PM

Also, those "child songs" they had were very "adult" in there undertone.....stfu.

thanks for carrying the banner Urban.

Minstrel 08-22-2008 02:15 PM

The Beatles are great, but overhyped and way overexposed. And Magical Mystery Tour was their best "album," not Sergeant Pepper's.

Son of JayJamJah 08-22-2008 02:37 PM

I am disappointed by this one, too easy. You could just as easily include, anti-Beatles fans.

not really. Anti-Beatles Fans Require Beatles Fans first. You can't wlak into a room bitching about Beatles Fans, theres a catalyst. Beatles Fans don't require much to gush.

You can have a rolling stones thread and that somehow begets Beatles Fans to posture on who was better. You can't have a non-beatles thread with anti-beatles fans in it. Thats just stupid.

I see your point, and it's valid mostly but there are several threads here where people bash the Beatles unsolicited. And it's hard to be too critical of people for praising what is essentially the consensus popular choice for greatest band ever.

I'm not sure Urban's as passionate about this one as maybe he once was. Say 1995 or so. Circa Beatles Anthology madness.

Sneer 08-22-2008 04:25 PM

Elitist music snobs who use a bands popularity against them are more annoying than Beatles fans hands down

I don't care if he is underrated or overrated in this case. Harrison has written some of my favorite songs ever, I don't care if he was that great on the guitar as long as he plays it somewhat decently.

I don't know about underrated as a guitarist (does anyone listen to the Beatles for the guitarwork?), but George Harrison was an underrated song-writer. He's massively overshadowed by McCartney and Lennon, but wrote some great songs.

The Beatles had some great song-writing talent...almost as much as Teenage Fanclub or Brian Wilson.

sleepy jack 08-22-2008 09:46 PM

Um almost as much as Teenage Fanclub?
