you're right... what was I thinking. All rap sucks and if you buy the Jonas brothers album you should stop posting here... is that better?
I don't think anybody should stop posting here, I was just trying to point out that generalizing a genre comes across as ignorant. Not different, not perceptive, not comparative, nothing to really argue... just dumb.

46 : People On Forums Who Cry " Just Because You Listen To Bands Nobody Has Heard Of You Think That Gives You the Right to Enforce Your Opinions On Others". In a word ...YES I don't go around listening to weird and obscure stuff just so I can win arguments on a forum , I do it because I enjoy music and want to hear as much different stuff as possible, and quite honestly if all you can do is listen to stuff thats on the radio , TV or only listen to stuff thats sold millions of albums then yes I do feel superior to you. I've made an effort to learn stuff , i've made an effort to find new things. You have the internet as well , there's no reason you can't find them either. Whether it be Chilean techno , Greenland hip hop , obscure Krautrock or post punk albums that never sold more than a couple of hundred copies , i've made an effort to find this stuff and if I find it more exciting , more innovative and just downright better than your alternative rock shite i'm going to fucking say so. You keep on kidding yourself that there are good things to be found on Stadium fucking Arcadium and trying to convince others that this isn't the same shit they've been churning out for over a decade, you keep on listening to that whiney slaphead Corgan desperately trying to relive past glories. And i'll be checking out more new stuff that you would never even think of looking for when your waiting for that new turd of a Pearl Jam album to drop. So fuck you , enjoy your morose 10 years out of date middle of the road 'alternative rock' and don't start whining when I call it for the out of date shit it is.

and to say you hate a whole genre is just completley ridiculous for obvius reasons...i could list many hip-hop artists who are great but you probably just heard crank that soulja boy and generalized a whole genre of music, so it would be pointless to argue any further we dont get along much eh dj? remember this? http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...s-ever-12.html Last edited by FaSho; 09-08-2008 at 04:47 PM. |

I should point out if your expecting shitty pop records in this thread then your wasting your time because as I don't listen to them , they can't annoy me.
Besides everybody knows those artists are rubbish , why do I have to bring it up again? I'll save them for all those metal kids we get here.

Have you seen Tommy, as in seen a performance of the Rock Opera? It will make you love even more. If you hate it, it will change your mind. Especially if you got to see it this summer at the Ricardo Montoban theater in Los Angeles. It was in HD3D sound. Whatever that mean, all I know is that you wore head phones and their were really loud speakers and it was awesome.

No, I haven't seen it. It might be closed minded to say so, but I can't imagine any other band/ensamble even coming close to the album (and it's cliched to say so, but Moon & Entwistle really were the greatest rhythm section in rock history).
