Bass solos by people who are not even good at bass.

The most loathsome song ever commited to record. I cannot begin to descibe the hatred for this piece of excrement. I have to leave the room if I hear it. Even if I was on the vinegar strokes I would still jump ship. Terrible terrible version.

Singing with power is one thing, Aretha and Tina did it right, but nowadays you have singers who are undeniably talented singers but they overdo it.

Whitney Houston is like the Yngwie Malmsteen of vocalists.

Exactly. It's as though they choose to sing songs purely to show off their vocal range. Completely unnecessary and adds nothing.

I have to say that Leona Lewis is pretty good and I liked her debut track 'Bleeding Love'. Not usually my sort of thing but her impressive vocal range is well contained.

Yeah but I have been known to lose my musical sanity from time to time.
