Almost. Teenage Fanclub also has three great song-writers. I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek, but not very. I'm really not sure which band has a better catalogue. I think Teenage Fanclub is criminally underrated, and one of the greatest bands ever with a rather amazing number of excellent songs.

The Beatles have some okay songs but they really are overrated. And it's annoying that people get so damn indignant if you don't think they're the greatest band ever in the history of music.

Because Boo Boo asked , but with my own slant on things....
78 : Prog fans who think that because they own OK Computer or Lateralus that it somehow makes them an expert on all current music. So you own an album less than 30 years old. Good for you but we still don't give a flying fuck about what you think about our favourite bands because at the end of the day you listen still to Genesis and we don't.

The anvil around the neck of prog. Genesis is an important band.

77 : The Decline Of 'Ordinary Bloke' Metal Bands Take a look at the picture , what do you notice. A typical British NWOBHM band perhaps? I notice something else. I notice that this picture was taken somewhere that looks at a builders yard. Not only that but the band themselves look like they probably work there. And thats what brings me to my next choice on this list. The decline of the 'ordinary bloke' metal bands. These bands were a staple of British rock throughout the 70s & 80s who toured the length and breadth of the country playing working mens clubs , town halls , sports centres and holiday camps in such glamourous places such as Margate , Carlisle , Whitby and Walsall. Not only that they'd probably paint & decorate your back bedroom as well if you bought them a pint and threw them 20 quid cash in hand no questions asked. It's so different now , with metal fans willing to rip your band to shreds if your album doesn't create some new sub sub sub genre on release and not forgetting you have to have about 30 piercings in your face , wear clown make up and cover your entire bodies in tattoos just to fit in. either that or have to be an ultra skinny kid with a noticeable haircut. There's just no fun there anymore , it's all so deadly serious. What British rock & metal is crying out for right now is ordinary blokes who know that they look slightly ridiculous in a pair of jeans that are far too tight and a slightly receding hairline just rocking out just having fun doing what they do with no pretensions making a few good songs along the way without being declared ''the future of music" before their first single even comes out and being trashed as being unfashionable & yesterdays news when it finally does come out. Is that really too much to ask?

You need to come to Detroit. These are a very common thing. You can see three bands under this heading a night in the metro area.

Ahh but those are pub bands. I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about bands with major label record deals and nationwide tours yet still look and act as if they work on a building site.

I see your point about Metal bands, and that's for sure true. Check out Red-I-Flight though, they are new to victory records, but they might fit your profile. These are blue-collar guys who love metal music making their own mark.
