It's not clever, it's not original. in fact it's just fucking annoying and unnecessary. It's been done to death, you are not showing your artistic side.

And if you're one of these bands who say 'Well actually we wanted the music to speak for itself, we felt giving the song a title took away something and that the listener should make their own interpretations of the songs' quite frankly this makes you nothing more than a pretentious art school drop out wannabe cock and you deserve to die.
Hmmm... I don't know. The motives behind this may not necessarily be pretentiousness. Especially when it comes to instrumental music it gets a little ridiculous coming up with names for songs so I can see why someone would just say, "Fuck it, I'm not bothering with a title."

Then maybe they should make the title, "Fuck it, I'm Not Bothering With a Title."

if they can't be bothered with titling their work then odds are their work wasn't worth recording in the first place.

I'm joking.

But that's not necessarily true. Not every song needs a name.

It doesn't have to be called "Untitled" but it doesn't need a name.

I would rather NIN's "Ghost I," etc.

at least 'Ghost X' follows a named theme. by sticking with 'untitled' it makes it seem as though no one involved in the process of creating that piece ever gave enough of a crap about it to do anything besides the absolute bare minimum.

We're agreeing with each other. xD

I'm not going to say anything else.

^I don't think that's true at all, it's just like saying "Symphony no.5", it doesn't need a word to describe the song, the song describes itself.

It's like any other kind of Art, except in music we're going backwards. It's like when Bacon names his painting "Painting".

There's always something pretentious in titles, when the work of art doesn't include any words. How can anyone describe something abstract?

You're agreeing with him, too.

He's saying that "Ghost X" is better than having no name.

no, I'm saying it's better to have no name.
Because something abstract [like instrumental music], should stay abstract.

So you'd rather it be called "Untitled?"
