Well you said you don't like Floyd, and their style and mood is similar to Floyd and Genesis, so you'd probably hate them.

But thanks for keeping me from buying an album. I'll listen to some mp3's first. |

Yeah the American folk and indie scenes are pumping out a lot of good to decent stuff right now and have been for a couple of years. Britain's got the Arctics, plus Portishead and Radiohead who recently have put out good albums. Brit Pop just ain't what it was in the 90s. I couldn't tell you a thing about America v. England when it comes to metal though.

The thing about Portishead and Radiohead is though, they've been around for almost 20 years. As far as newer british bands there's close to nothing. Last edited by Brad Stengel; 05-09-2009 at 06:08 PM. Reason: drunk |

Easily my favorite album from '08 and the album that got me into trip hop. But yeah, that's why I grouped Portishead and Radiohead separately from AM in my post. |

They're a Scottish band, my friend. Hell, between Franz and Mogwai you could argue Scotland has better output
England is a bit lacking in the post rock movement as well. Japan has some great stuff coming out of there. |
