![]() His "lacking" at best post-MCIS work His outstanding pretentiousness That book of poetry he wrote (lawl) Zwan His solo work The new smashing pumpkins Tis a shame too, he really was great back in the day. I have a book that has tabs for every MCIS song, and in the beginning is an article written by Billy Corgan gor 'guitar world' or some magazine like that, where he gives guitar playing tips. It was really well done, he remarks on how you should only learn to the skill level that of the music that you want to make, in otherwords if you want to be in a punk band, dont waste your time memorizing Satriani riffs. He also comments on how the whole "good guitar player" thing is really subjective. "Some people think Zappa is a genius, others say he sucks. Some people say m good, others say I suck, it all depends," Then again he sort of compared hiself to Frank Zappa there, maybe he was always that full of himself. ![]() |

![]() ![]() 18 : Soft Rock / AOR I can quite honestly say I have never owned a single album of this stuff. I loathe this stuff more than anything on earth. Rock is supposed to be hard , that's why it's called ROCK. I can appreciate soft music , I just hate this cheesy shit. You can always tell a soft rock band a mile away. Big perms , bushy beards , white suits all smiling at each other on stage , maybe if your lucky there will be a woman on keyboards dressed as fucking Tinkerbell in all her airy fairy glory. I fucking hate all of them. fuck Fleetwood Mac ,fuck ELO , fuck Boston , fuck Journey , fuck Foreigner ,fuck Styx. Anyone mind if I include Wings in this too? Good fuck Wings too In fact I guess I should be grateful that I live in the UK where apart from a couple of exceptions most of this shit didn't sell and not the US so I don't have this shit rammed down my throat whenever my Ipod needs charging and i'm forced to listen to the radio at work. Although not even in the UK can you escape Mr fucking Blueskies or Big Love. Oh and if your wondering why I didn't specify the 1970s in the title. I only did it so that I could call out the Lighthouse fucking Family for the bunch of cunts they are.

First things first; I hate all of the bands you mentioned. However, if you ignore the "rock" tag, they're far less annoying. Really, the "rock" label is hopelessly overused (and more importantly, misused). "Blood On The Tracks" is an amazing album, but it's not rock. Critics who call it a rock album annoy me, but that has no effect on the music itself. I mean, people call Steely Dan "soft rock," but come on...it's great music, but not "rock."

The thing is, after 50 years nobody can really define what exactly "rock" is. |

Hey!! Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac were awesome. You need to specify that for the greenhorns. Elo's album Time is a masterpiece. Boston's first album is great, everything else they did sucked. Foreigner had one good song (Blue Morning Blue Day) Styx had 3 good songs. Journey...yeah, they sucked. Although Wings had plenty of suckage songs they had quite a few good ones.
