Default New Cure album

Every four years, it's time. It will be released October 13th 2008, still unnamed. Anyone heard anything?

A few singles have leaked, i haven't really given them the time yet.

I really should because i rate their last album very highly, i think it's brilliant and goes against the whole 'old bands shouldn't release albums past their prime' idea.

I'm sorry to say it, but I really think they should've quit in the late 80s. At this point they've been mediocre for longer than they were great.

Why should they quit?

The stuff they're doing now might not reach the heights of the stuff they were doing in the 80s but none of their albums have been flat out bad apart from Wish which ironically was their biggest selling album.

Also on their last tour they played a phenomenal 3 hour 39 song set that included their entire debut album as an encore.

That doesn't sound like a band who should call it a day to me.

Cure albums are never less than interesting and I'm sure the new release will have it's fair share of fillers and belting tunes as is the norm for them. The pluses always outweigh the minuses and I regard them in high esteem.

Because like I said they've reached a point where they've been mediocre for longer than they were great. I'm not saying this as someone who hates the Cure but rather as a fan. I think when the old formula becomes stale, as it has with the Cure, it's time to try something different. Robert Smith is a really talented guy and I'd love to see him break up the Cure like he threatened to for years and go in a new direction with a new band.

Yeah, like the Glove. It's been 25 years, time to branch out again, Mr. Smith.

i totally agree. . . as much as i enjoy parts of the new stuff all in all it is a stale sound . . . . i agree i'd love for him to try something new. . . .however it is the original line up on the coming album so who knows. . .

also, someone mentioned earlier that all their stuff has been good except "wish" and i find that odd. . . i think wish was their last good album from start to finish. . . .wild mood swings has some great elements but doesn't quite pull it off. bloodflowerrs was ****e. the last one was cool, it was nice to hear some balls back in them but what was with he cheesy filler tunes . . .

no matter what though, i love the cure.
