Urban Hat€monger ? 07-25-2008 01:30 PM

Let's do Mr Ballin by Nature

Jimi Hendrix - Quality

SRV - Admire his talent , hate his material

Clapton - The double glazing salesman of blues

Queens of the Stone Age - Lost the plot big time , bring back Oliveri

Bush - If there's one thing I hate more than turgid quazi-grunge lite American stadium rock it's turgid quazi-grunge lite American stadium rock written by Brits who really ought to know better.

Pacewon and Mr. Green (Hip hop fans get their CD) - No

Soapbox Paradox - Eh?

Gimp - Eh?

Shad - Eh?

ACDC - 10/10 if your referring to the Bon Scott era

Collective SOul - No

Wayne (puts firefighting suit on) - Eh?

the Who - Better when they were making pop records

Boston - yawnathon soft rock

Biggie smalls - I don't care if he has good 'flow' or whatever people say , his material is soul sapping dross.

THe Aquabats! - The Aquashits , See what I did there?

RHCP - Red Hot Shitty Peppers , And there?

Foo Fighters - Have made the same album over & over again for the past 10 years

RAGE - Fisher Price 'my first political shouty type band'.
For people who want to listen to The Clash but can't be bothered with all those slow boring songs , or people who would listen to Crass but can't deal with having a chick doing the singing.

Jack Johnson - See first post

Tom Petty- A man who has made an entire career at being unspectacular

Deals Gone Bad - Eh?

I only listened to that album because they were supporting Primal Scream and I wanted to see what they were like.

As you can see it was only played once.

jackhammer 07-25-2008 01:38 PM

I could only give opinions on 7 of urbs bottom 25. Not exactly engrossing reading for anyone!

I love The Duke Spirit though, brilliant first album.

Wow Urban, totally harsh, you pretty much took the sh*t on all of Mr. Ballins top artists.

Troy:

Mos Def - Pretty damn good.

Lupe Fiasco - ...

Nas - Great. Illmatic ftw.

The Killers - I think they're trash, I hate most of these "revival" bands.

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Think I Am was a solid debut, but they really overhyped the hell out of this band.

Portishead - Awesome, Beth Gibbons has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard.

Pink Floyd - I'm wearing my DSOTM t shirt right now. =)

Air - Excellent, Moon Safari is THE chill album.

Gorillaz - I prefer their first album, but Gorillaz are probably the best mainstream pop act there is right now.

The Strokes - Good but incredibly overrated.

A Tribe Called Quest - I think Low End Theory is an album everyone should hear even if they don't like hip hop, thats just how good TCQ is.

The Roots - I like them, not as much as everyone else though.

Blackalicious - ...

Radiohead - Sigh, I'm running out of stuff to say without sounding cliche, turns out I'm not gonna see them at Lollapalooza like I wanted. :(

Cee Lo - He's great but I'm not too big on him.

Common - Need to hear more from him but he is really good.

Outkast - I like their older stuff, but I don't want to hear anything from Speakerboxx/The Love Below ever again.

MF Doom - Great, I need to check out Madvillian.

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien - I like what I've heard, I need to hear more.

The Flaming Lips - Amazing.

Nujabes - ...

Sway DaSafo - ...

Massive Attack - They're great, I've been getting into them more.

jimi Hendrix - He really got me into good rock music, and I used to be really into him.

Gnarls Barkely - Good but overrated.

Next 25, skipping a few artists that are on there because of my brother.

@ TROY 148

I really like (most of) your taste in hip-hop...What do you think of Dilated Peoples or the J5 or Talib Kweli? Did you like the Blackstar album?

yeah, wtf, I had to review your playlist which is hard because of your unique taste. Then on top of that Mr. Urban Hatemonger reviews my playlist. I am like the fat kid at the pool party. If I go in I am going to be called Free Willy, and if I stay out I am going to be sweaty and called stinkass. Lose lose.

But really, I am just happy that Urban liked Hendrix. Recently some people have been saying that Hendrix was wildly overrated. :nono:

Oh and The Only Color that Matters is Green is a very well done hip hop album by Pacewon and Mr. Green, no idea why you gave it a no.

Double X 07-26-2008 07:58 PM

DJ Shadow - Eh, never liked him at all.

Ramones - pretty good, prefer the Clash though.

Tom Waits - Never liked him

Portishead - Who?

Mr. Bungle - Too avantgarde for me.

Gang of Four - Who?

Rage Against the Machine - yuck, i used to like them but they only have 4 listenable songs...not into their music, but I give them some credit for pioneering that 'rapcore' crap or whatever

Primus - Great band, love Les Claypool. Him and McCartney are who got me interested in bass. Favorite is 'Mr. Krinkle'

X - It's sexist but apart from Bjork and Nico I don't like female singers in bands too much.

Neil Young - He's alright, don't listen to him much though

Beck - My favorite active (and in his prime still) solo artist

Van Halen - Never liked their music at all. 'Eruption' was such a waste, could have used it in a real song. Never liked it anyways, because all I could do was say 'Wow he's pretty good'. Meant nada to me.

Public Enemy - Meh

Gong - Love 'em.

Weezer - Never had been a fan.

Greenslade - My brother likes them. He's into a ton of progressive rock / hard rock / metal. Their okay I suppose, better sounding than Van Halen.

Dinosaur Jr - Never listen to them much but their alright

DangerDoom - Who?

Ozric Tentacles - Never heard of them

Johnny Cash - My favorite 50s guy

The Kinks- Love 'em. Got 4 albums and they all play nice

Hawkwind - Love that stuff, I only got 'Space Ritual' but I love their sound.

Roxy Music - Good band, pretty underrated.

Aphex Twin - Not into electronic music

Sigur Rós - Have only heard of them, love to listen to some of their music though.

I'd reply but I don't know most of those. I will however print it out and give them a shot.

boo boo 07-27-2008 11:06 AM

I prefer Nicks era Mac to Green era by a great deal.

Outside of Cream and Zep I've been too big on blues rock bands.
