3 doors down, Arctic Monkeys, Clap your hands say yeah, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Embrace, MCR, New Young Pony Club, Paramore. That's about it. I'm mainly into alternative Indie stuff though. They usually sound refreshing and different unlike the usually somewhat genre-standardized music coming from major labels. Which was the reason I posted here. Damn, I'm having difficulties explaining what I like. IMO, good songs are -Red Flag (Billy Talent) with its catchy beat and clear vocals -Coldplay (What if) slow at parts but exudes an engulfing, meaningful feel -The Killers (Spaceman) refreshing, emotional -RHCP (Otherside) Bass owns. -Say Anything (Yellow Cat / Red Cat) Within the genres mentioned, anything slow, repititive/boring is out. Hope you are having a clearer idea... :/ |

I strongly recommend that you do. They are really good. They have one album already out and I believe a new one is coming out this year. The one that is already out is amazing.

I have to do a presentation on depression in Psychology and the teacher is allowing me to play music that is depressing. Any ideas? It has to sound depressing. It can't be the kind of sadcore where it has an upbeat sound but has depressing lyrics. It'd have to be the kind where it strikes you as depressing once you hear it. Well?

I would LOVE some suggestions!
Iv'e picked up a few names this week, things I thought I might get into. But first I wanted to get the opinion of musicbanter, just want suggestions! For isntance, if you really love one of the artists, some insight into what you like about them would be of great use. Same sort of deal if you don't particularly like an artist.
1- The Church 2- Echo And The Bunnymen 3- Alanis Morisette 4- Steel Pulse 5- Ani Difranco 6- Elvis Costello And The Attrations 7- 3oh!3 8- Rolling Stones 9- Coldplay 10- INXS 11- Love |
