Swing, to me, is some rather old time but wonderful jazz. A couple of artistes that come to mind are say Benny Goodman, Coleman Hawkins, Glen Miller, Artie Shaw. Is that what you mean?

Squirrel Nut Zippers - They're like a swing-revival band of the 90s. Check out the albums Perennial Favorites or Hot by them.

i also suggest squirrel nut zipper. looks like you are already checking out big bad voodoo daddy - they are great live. looking forward to see them again.

i'd avoid cherry poppin daddies as they were a rock band until swing came into fation and only their 1st swing album has anything worth listening to on it.

Hi!

I'd like somebody to recommend some songs or bands that have a sound kind of like this song:

Search for "Sound Life" on Youtube and its the first video

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Squirrel Nut Zippers are cool, but you should look into the old guys who started it all. That's some great stuff. Benny Goodman is my favorite. You just have to move when you hear this one (it's not an original recording, but it's high quality):

YouTube - Benny Goodman & His Orchestra - Sing Sing Sing

Here's a 1942 recording:

YouTube - Benny Goodman - Roll 'Em (1942)

1937:

Anything out there like BRMC or Blue October?

I'm also looking for some really good instrumental stuff, preferably something heavy, but not to aggressive.

I love Cherry Poppin' Daddies. One of the great swing bands.

Have you heard The Autumns? Similar to Blue October, but still very original. Lot's of instrumental.

YouTube - The Autumns - Every Sunday Sky
YouTube - The Autumns - Boys

This next one is my favorite track off their self titled album, but I couldn't find a high quality vid for you, so I guess this will have to suffice:
YouTube - The Autumns - 'The End' Live
