Can't go wrong with Miles Davis. I think my favorite jazz album though is "Swiss Movement" by Les McCann and Eddie Harris. The first track is probably the best political jazz song I've ever heard.

people here seem to know more about music than i thought possible. i have been listening to post-rock/jam stuff like Sound Tribe Sector 9, Perpetual Groove, EITS, 65daysofstatic, Umphrey's McGee and Medeski Martin and Wood. Any thoughts on new artists i might not know about?

I'm looking for some new music to get my ears on (new as in new to me).
My top 10 most listened from the past few years: Jack Johnson, Atmosphere, Kanye West, The Black Keys, John Legend, Common, Lupe Fiasco, The Beatles, GZA (liquid swords), and Danger Doom. I like pretty much everything. Would love to hear any and all recommendations.
