Hey all, I'm trying to compile a list of songs of a certain sound and feel. The upbeat hits of the 50s, and 60s. I'm personally enamored with the innocence and energy of post-war America and the music of the time; a simpler time when popular music didn't need to be diluted with personal or political agenda. A group of like-minded friends and I are compiling this list in order to take these songs and try to breath a little life back into them; throw a more modern, but still purely energetically joyful spin on them. Some of my personal favorites from the list we already have go as follows:
The Foundations-Build Me Up Buttercup Ben E. King-Stand By Me The Contours-Do You Love Me? The Chordettes-Lollipop The Penguins-Earth Angel Four Aces-Mr. Sandman We're looking for songs in the same vein as the ones listed above. So without further adieu let fly with your additions to the list. |

Hey I think I am going to buy a Joy Division album and I like 'She's Lost Control' and 'Shadowplay' from Unknown Pleasures but a teacher from school (who is a science teacher that listens to a lot of music, he's awesome) said Closer was better.
Eh? I heard those are like the only 2 real albums because Curtis hung himself...so? |
