I'm wanting to get more into avant garde jazz/free jazz/free music. If anyone has some suggestions or links, hit me up.

I'm not gonna claim to be an expert on free jazz or anything, but Mostly Other People Do The Killing is a group that immediately springs to mind. If you search for their name on YouTube, Baden should be the first song of theirs that comes up.

Can be found in various genres so I'm asking here. Some examples:
Depeche Mode
Angelo Badalamenti - (soundtrack) Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
Brian Eno - (album) Small Craft on a Milk Sea
Bohren & der Club of Gore - (album) Sunset Mission
Miles Davis - (album) Kind of Blue

Thanks for any suggestions
one word

COIL

i suggest starting with Musick To Play in The Dark 1 and 2

So I don't like any specific genre of music- but there is something about harmonic minor scale movements that I like a lot. An example I can think of right off the top of my head would be Hotel California. Here are a couple other ones that are less well-known but have this specific mood/musical development
(Excuse me for not being able to hyperlink these as I am still a relatively new member)
Killer-Plain White T's
Everybody talks- Neon Trees (Not really as bittersweet as I like, but has that really subtle musical movement)

I've noticed that a lot of songs that are sad/poignant/bittersweet/angry-thoughtful have this characteristic. If anyone can make suggestions based on the music I described above- I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Default are they any songs actually good that are new anymore?

I am looking for some new music, from bands I listen to, but I still listen to there old stuff, songs that came out in the early 2000's. I rarely have new songs that I like that came out here recently. I like a lot of hard rock songs that came out, I'm looking for some new good songs by the bands: Taking back sunday, brandnew, less than jake,Jet,something corporate, simple plan, panic at the disco, thursday, thrice, the hives the hives, the strokes,etc.,ska,alternative...any punk,ska,pop-punk,alternative etc. I guess when fuse died, and I lost my sirius satellite radio, I stopped listening to those types of music. I got back into those bands and a lot more bands from those genres
