Are you asking what genre or music you should like based on that list? Think you can sort that out :p:

Well,

yeah. ;)

i'm trying to find more music that suits me, without listening to every song that comes out, and knowing the genres would certainly help. e.g. Enya ~ what even category is she???

Yes, i might be able to figure it out for myself, but if i'm going to do that, why would i join a music forum? It would appear that i missed about a decade and a half (90 - 05) of music, and i could sure use some help.

i like my old stuff, and will not be throwing it all out ~ but i would like to add to it.

Oh. And i love belly dancing music!

Well, if you want good tips, the recommendation thread is prittay prittay solid...

Just ask what you are looking for in terms of similarities to another artist...

If you wanted to categorise Enya it can be varied. Celtic, World, Ethnic Fusion, New age, among others. Check out her 1st group Clannard, I suspect that you would like that and also some of Lisa Gerrards solo work, say Immortal Memory.

That's part of the prob, actually. i've read y'all's posts, and, i mean, i don't know anything about anything, so i've got some MAJOR catching up to do!

Yeah, the Mix Tape Threads are da bomb! They'll help me with finding new music, but i'd like to learn a little about that music, also...

Yes, i have heard of Clannard, and have listened to them, but Enya by herself is so much better imho.

Thank you, thank you!

The thing is, i like a LOT of music, regardless of category or genre, and will listen to almost anything that doesn't physically hurt my ears ~ but i pick out my favorite SONGS, and that's what i go with, so i have a million artists that i listen to, but only a few that i like the whole albums of. Even then, for my own variety compilations, i only pick out a couple of their songs.

i guess that's it ~ i'm a Variety Listener, who picks and chooses.

btw, KILLER avvy!

Times Of Grace is a good album.

EDIT: There is no 'R' in Clannad. May help a little more with searching.

Actually, youtube must be used to misspellings ~ they offer "Did You Mean..." options to the *cough, cough* *errrr* occasional typo...
