Like Nick Drake, not that he shreds, just the finger picking and unorthodox style.

I'm still mourning the death of R.E.M and am reasonably depressed at the fact that I never got to see them live. Is there a similar band that has the same style of melodic amazingness and interesting lyrics that haven't yet split up? xD

I have a noticeable absence of bands from Australia and New Zealand in my collection. Any bands I should really check out? Something along the lines of The Church would be cool.

Ahh, I don't really know if they're similar, but I know REM has influenced The Decemberists, and Colin Meloy is a master of melody and storytelling.

I need some hardcore/screamo similar to Pg.99, Refused, Ink & Dagger, City of Caterpillar, Saetita ect. Can anyone help a brother out, or is the hardcore/screamo/emo part of this site as dead as dirt?

Default Recommend similar music

Hello, I'm new to this forum, and I need help.

A while ago I heard this song ( youtube.com/watch?v=Vv6gq7_snHQ )and I love it! However I'm having a really hard time finding similar songs. I tried dozens of styles (funky, groovy, ambient, rock blues, indie, electronic...) but I never found anything even remotely similar.
Can anybody help me?
Sorry, I don't have 15 posts to be able to post urls, so please copy/paste the links.

P.S.
That song ( youtube.com/watch?v=Hn6aVEpzy8I ) is similar style, maybe it can help you.
They both sound like club/bar ambient music.
Thank you!

I would recommend the song No Dignity.

I'll assume you've heard Orchids 'Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow' and Circle Takes The Squares 'As Roots Undo'

Also, both of La Dispute's albums, especially 'Wildfire'

You could also check out;

The Saddest Landscape
We Were Skeletons
Suis La Lune
& on a limb, The Revolution Continues, not really Hardcore or Screamo, but you may like their sound.
