I don't know if this song by Night Ranger-Sister Christian is appropriate or not, I guess it depends on how you might interrupt the meaning of the song yourself.

Default Help! Need recent song about -mistakes -

I'm looking for 3 songs (from a band/artist popular with college students) that are about these topics:
-One song about mistakes

-One song about measuring something (anything besides "measuring cups?)

-One song about either something or someone being or staying too long OR about starting with something simple (other than Do Re Mi!).

These themes don't need to be in the title or even the whole theme of the song--the connection can be subtle.

Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

Blemish is a difficult album IMO - a little too experimental for me (which then led to the absolutely abysmal Manafon) - if your new to Sylvians solo stuff it might be worth going quite a bit back to something like 'Brilliant trees' or 'Secrets of the beehive' or maybe the compilation 'Everything & nothing'. One of the greatest voices in music

from 'brilliant trees' :

David Sylvian - Red Guitar - YouTube

from 'Secrets of the beehive' - (For Leesa, RIP)

or from the comp with Mick Karn (RIP) :

David Sylvian - Buoy - YouTube

I would say Explosions in the Sky might work well for what you are going for. They have a bunch of stuff that could work.
