I have ZERO reggae or ska (unless the Clash count at all, unlikely though), what would I start with?

I need some good indie pop. I already have some Apples In Stereo and Beulah, but I'd like some more reccommendations.

Some Alt. Country along the lines of 16 Horsepower would be great too. I gave a couple Wilco albums a listen, but didn't like them too much.

Check out The Unicorns.

Reggae try: Burning Spear-Marcus Garvey
Ska try: Any Prince Buster or for 2nd wave (distorted guitars and heavier skank) try The Specials- S/T.

If you don't get along with them then they are not for you TBH. I hope you dig them though.

I need some dark, depressing yet at the same time uplifting, reverbey, echoey, folky acoustic strumming with undertones of drone, unsettlingly beautiful. Something like Angels of Light, Flying Saucer Attack, Slowdive, or kind of Spacemen 3. Anyone up to the challenge?

Mount Eerie: Ampersand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not too much drone on there but beautiful and calming and a little strange too.

Free tracks but I have'nt checked them out yet:

Anyone have any suggestions for folk influenced classical stuff, with strong European influences... Like Yann Tiersen...

Thanks in advance...

I think you should delve into the work of Ennio Morricone.
