I been enjoying lately electronic infused rock I guess is what its called....
RadioHead - Kid A Flaming Lip - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Broken Bells - Broken Bells These New Purtians (even though I not fond of the vocals) Anyone got any suggestions for artist and albums by those artists I should check out? |

Rose Royce, Roberta Flack, Rufus & Chaka Kahn. Sorta that time period, funky R&B. |
I agree with the earlier discussion on this board that Prog tends to be very love it or leave it... I'm personally on the love it side of that equation, I gotta admit...

Anyone have any suggestions for a band that plays like Paramore and 30 Seconds from Mars but without all the yelling?

I have an unusual request:
I was watching this Angry Video Game Nerd episode on the Atari game Swordquest and there was a really cool, inspirational song playing in the background. I can't really describe it, it gave off this uplifting, medieval, inspirational, epic battle song. The video is here: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/an...ewattack/61988 The song starts at around 7:25 in. It kind of reminds me of songs in movies after a great battle scene, like a ray of hope now that the hero won. It also kind of reminds me of an epic journey. Does anyone know of any similar songs? Thanks a lot! |

I was out to dinner at Applebee's the other night and I heard their new single, "Kings and Queens." I usually don't listen to the lighter stuff like the, (with most of my interests towards heavy metal, etc) but I found myself enjoying it all the while. Anyways, I heard some positive critiques from people I know who listened to the new CD, but read rather mixed reviews online. And I'm debating with myself about whether I should buy it or not. Can someone help? Oh, yeah, I'm also looking for a band that has a similar playing style to The Black Dahlia Murder. Thanks! |
